Creating cooling shade

Shady trees and shrubs make a significant contribution to local cooling, because their shade prevents the ground from heating up, and the transpiration from their foliage also cools the air. Even in cities, areas with trees, such as gardens and parks, are significantly cooler than nearby areas without trees.

Shade and cooling

This study showed that trees in parks and botanical gardens, have a significant cooling effect, not only in the garden, but in the surrounding area too.
